Thompsonville Man Arrested After Making Verbal Threats at Munson Medical Center
Traverse City, MI — January 5, 2026 — A 23-year-old man from Thompsonville was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly making verbal threats of violence against employees at Munson Medical Center, prompting a precautionary lockdown of the hospital campus.
According to the Traverse City Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:36 a.m. to the 1100 block of Sixth Street in response to a suspicious complaint involving threats of violence at the medical center. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, triggering a coordinated search with assistance from the Michigan State Police, Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, and central dispatch.
Police located and took the suspect into custody at about 7:50 a.m. on Monday. The charge against him was listed as false report of terroristic threats.
