Rob and Kate Mead of RK Mead Investments LLC have formally submitted plans for a project called The Village of Blackwood, named after Grawn’s original 19th-century identity when the community was first settled as Blackwood in the 1870s. The site sits in a triangular area near CR-633, Brooks Street, and State Street, encompassing multiple properties that the Meads have been assembling for the development. Under the proposal, the Meads plan to build 38 for-sale homes, geared toward first-time buyers and others seeking affordable homeownership close to family and community amenities.
